PRINCETON, N.J. - The Columbia men's soccer team had five players selected to All-Ivy League teams Wednesday afternoon, as announced by the conference office. Senior Quentin Grigsby and junior David Najem earned second-team accolades, while Henning Sauerbier, Antonio Matarazzo and Kyle Jackson received honorable mention recognition.

Grigsby anchored the Columbia backline that shutout four opponents this season, including the final road contest at Harvard. In that game, Grigsby scored his second goal of the season, a mark that gave the Lions a 1-0 victory. One of the most athletically skilled players for Columbia, Grigsby often led by example on the field during his senior campaign.

Najem is making his third appearance on an All-Ivy League team and his second consecutive on the second-team. In his third season with the Lions, Najem often filled the role of field general, manning a midfield that was known for quickly moving the ball from the defensive third to the offensive third. He made 13 starts this season and logged the second-most minutes with 1,340.

Sauerbier has now been recognized by the Ivy League in each of his first three years at Columbia. The Dueren, Germany native was the Ivy League Rookie of the Year as a freshman and earned a spot on the second-team in 2011. Sauerbier was one of three Lions to record a team-best five points in 2012.

Matarazzo and Jackson culminate stellar freshmen seasons with All-Ivy League Honorable Mention status. Matarazzo scored one goal and added an assist, while seeing the most field time this season with 1,345 minutes.

Jackson made 11 starts in goal as a first-year for Columbia. The Paradise Valley, Ariz. native recorded three shutouts and made 58 saves on the year. Jackson matched Ivy League Rookie of the Year Thomas Sanner (Princeton) with four Ivy League Rookie of the Week selections in 2012. His .829 save percentage trailed only Brown's Sam Kernan-Schloss (.836) for tops in the Ivy League.
