NSCAA Release
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Columbia men and women's soccer
teams were among the collegiate programs recognized Monday by the National
Soccer Coaches Association of America with the Team Academic Award for the 2012
season.
To be considered for the NSCAA Team Academic Award, a team
must have a collective grade point average of 3.0 or higher. A total of 723
college soccer teams received the honor this season and 150 schools had both
their men's and women's teams earn the accolade, including Columbia.
The Columbia men's team posted a 3.42 GPA, while the women's
squad came in at 3.31.
