SAN FRANCISCO - USF's De'End Parker scored 31 points as the Dons topped the Columbia men's basketball team, 79-59, on Saturday night. The Lions dropped to 4-2 on the season with the defeat.

First-year Grant Mullins scored 14 points for the third straight game to lead Columbia. Senior Brian Barbour posted nine points, six assists and three steals.

The Dons shot a blistering 56.3-percent from three-point range and were 50.9 overall from the floor. The Lions started the game strong, but cooled off as the game went on, knocking down just 35.4-percent of their field goal attempts.

After a back-and-forth start to the game, the Dons pressure defense forced Columbia into taking tough shots and forced a series of turnovers. On the strength of four three-pointers, USF opened up a 31-21 lead with 2:38 remaining in the first half, and Parker, a transfer from UCLA, capped a 15-point first half with a buzzer-beating jumper to give the Dons a 40-27 cushion at the break.

USF continued to ride the hot-hand of Parker in the second half and built up a 21-point lead with 15:27 to go, and never looked back.

After returning to the east coast, the Lions will remain on the road to take on LIU Brooklyn on Wednesday, November 28. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
