Friday’s match marks the beginning of the third season of varsity women’s squash at Columbia since the program’s inception in 2010. The Lions will begin the year as the 14th-ranked squad in the nation.

The Lions are set to return seven student-athletes from last year's squad, including the top-three players in Alisha Maity, Katie Quan and Kate Calihan. Four freshmen are also set to begin their collegiate careers at Columbia this season.

UPDATE: Friday's women's match against Georgetown has been cancelled.

Scouting Cornell
The Big Red brings and undefeated record to the StreetSquash Center after downing each of its first three opponents. Cornell topped both No. 16 Hamilton and No. 10 Williams by 9-0 scores and then edged past Stanford, 5-4.

A total of 13 student-athletes have seen action this year for a Cornell squad that finished sixth at the 2012 Howe Cup (A Division). Cornell returned its top-five student-athletes from last season, including First-Team All-American Danielle Letourneau and Second-Team All-America selection Jamie Laird.
