Final Day Results
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - On Sunday, Dec.2, the Columbia men's swimming and diving
team capped the three-day inaugural Brown Invitational at the Katherine
Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. The Lions started the final day in fifth place
at 339.5 points after a tough day two of competition.

The 200 back was one of the first events of the day, and the
Lions put together some strong heats. Sophomore Kevin Quinn captured a
runner-up finish in the 'B' finals with a 10th place finish time of 1:51.81.
Columbia took the top two spots in the 'C' finals with a win from David
Jakl at 1:50.59 and second place finish from Benjamin Xu at 1:52.21.
Quinn and Jakl would both go on to have solid performances in
the 200 fly later in the day. Quinn placed seventh overall hitting the wall at
1:51.26. Jakl posted his second 'C' finals win of the day with a time of
1:51.05.
Eric Traub represented the Lions well in the 200 breast, grabbing an eighth place finish with a time of 2:06.06. The quartet of Jakl,
Omar Arafa, Daniel Gosek, and Dominik Koll would finish the meet for Columbia
with a sixth-place finish in the 400 free relay with a combined time of
3:03.88. With a total of 450.5 team points, Columbia concluded the Brown Invitational
in fifth place.
Up next, the Lions return to Uris Pool to open the 2013 year
with a dual meet facing Bucknell on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 1 p.m.
