LAST TIME OUT
Coumbia will look to snap a four-game losing skid when Ivy League action kicks off at Cornell on Saturday at noon. The Lions fought to the final seconds before falling to Lafayette, 49-47, in Levien Gymnasium last week. Columbia was led by an impressive performance in senior Brittany Simmons, who recorded a double-double with a career-high 16 points and 10 rebounds, and junior Courtney Bradford, who pulled down 11 boards on the night. Two players scored in double figures for the Leopard, including Emily Homan, who had a game high-tying 16 points to go with 13 boards.

ALL-TIME IVY LEAGUE OPENERS
Columbia is 8-18 all-time in conference openers, and will begin its 27th season as an official member of the Ivy League in 2013. Over the past 10 seasons, the Lions are 5-5 in the first Ivy League game of the year. Prior to falling to Princeton in the Ivy League opener last season, the Lions had won their last three Ivy League openers, all against Cornell. The most recent Ivy League opener on the road was a 68-44 victory at Cornell during the 2009-10 season.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. CORNELL
The series between Columbia and Cornell has picked up the pace in recent years. The Big Red lead the all-time series, 39-23, but Columbia has won five of the last nine meetings. Last year, the Lions dropped a tough loss to Cornell at home, 54-44, and fell 77-54 on the road to end the season. Columbia will look to extend its conference-opening win streak over Cornell to four on Saturday.

COLLEGE SPORTS MADNESS
Senior Brittany Simmons earned College Sports Madness Ivy League Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors after lifting the Lions to a 49-45 victory over St. Francis Brooklyn. Simmons tied her career best with a game-high 11 points, including a perfect 4-of-4 effort from the charity stripe.  The McIntosh, Ala. native also led the way with seven rebounds, five assists and four steals in an all-around impressive performance.

STEALER SIMMONS & THE LIONS
Brittany Simmons grabbed a career-high six steals against Colgate on Dec. 4, and currently ranks third in the Ivy League with 2.1 steals per game. As a team, the Lions lead the conference, averaging 10.1 steals this season.
