Over the past five seasons, Columbia has dominated the series and is currently on a streak of five straight wins over the Bears. For the Columbia upperclassmen, Saturday will be a familiar scene as the Lions hosted Brown for the homecoming dual meet of the 2010-11 season, which resulted in a 163-137 win for Columbia. Both teams are currently tied for fourth in the Ivy League at 2-2 and the Lions will look to jump ahead with a win on Saturday.

Last Time Out

Seniors Caroline Lukins, Katie Meili and Kristina Parsons each broke pool records to spark a Columbia 178-115 victory at Cornell on Saturday, Jan. 19. The Lions record-setting day started with Lukins in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:00.92. She broke Harvard's Ana Anya's time of 2:01.97 to win the event.

Meili added another pool record victory in the 100 breaststroke with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 1:02.44, breaking the previous time of 1:03.94. Parsons joined her senior classmates with a pool record performance in the 100 butterfly at 55.02. She clocked in just .02 seconds ahead of Meili in the event, who also hit the wall ahead of the previous record time of 56.33. Meili's time of 55.04 was a personal best for the captain.

Scouting the Bears

The 5-2 Bears are currently tied with Columbia in the Ivy League in fourth place at 2-2. Brown has won three out of the last four dual meets with wins over Dartmouth, Providence and its latest victory against Penn. Saturday's meet will be the second of the week for Brown following a trip to Bryant on Thursday, Jan. 24.
