NEW YORK - The Columbia men's swimming and diving team
will celebrate Homecoming as they host Ivy League foe Brown on Saturday, Jan.
26 in Uris Pool at 4 p.m. The 4-2 Lions will look to defeat the Bears for the
third consecutive year. The team
is in the midst of three dual meet win streak with victories over Army,
Bucknell,, and Cornell.

Last Time Out
The Lions won its third
consecutive dual meet on Friday, Jan. 18, defeating Cornell 172-127. Junior
Harry Stephenson took the first individual event of the session, winning the
1,000 freestyle in 9:32.01. The 200 freestyle saw the Lions claim first and
second place, as Dominik Koll captured the win in 1:40.11. Just a couple
seconds behind was David Jakl, finishing runner-up in 1:42.96. Jakl also
grabbed the victory in the 100 butterfly at 49.70.
The Lions continued to
build the lead in the 100 backstroke, taking the top three finishes in the
event. Michael Fox-Moles led the way, clocking in at 51.58, followed by Jared
Namba in second at 52.25 and Benjamin Xu came in third at 52.48. Xu went on to win
the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:51.83.
The 200 butterfly marked
the next win for Columbia when Kevin Quinn hit the wall at 1:49.76. Alex Mango
followed close behind with a second-place finish in 1:52.35. Daniel Gosek posted a victory in the 50
freestyle at 20.84 and Alex Ngan took second at 21.34 respectively. Daniel Tan
won the 100 freestyle in 47.31 to give the Lions its ninth individual win of
the meet and a 172-127 toppling of the Big Red.
Scouting the Bears
After a win over Penn in
the team's last outing, Brown stands at 4-3 on the season, but is just 1-3 in
the Ivy League. The Bears 170-129 win over the Quakers was their first Ivy League
win of the season. Before Brown hits Uris Pool they will face Bryant on
Thursday, Jan. 24.

On Friday, Feb. 1 Columbia will welcome the Naval Academy to Uris Pool
for its final non-conference dual meet of the season at 2 p.m.
