NEW YORK - On Friday, Feb. 1, the Columbia men's swimming
and diving team will step out of Ivy League play for the final time this season
when they hosts Navy at 2 p.m. The Lions are currently enjoying a four meet win
streak and improved to 5-2 overall on the season after a win over Brown last

Last Time Out
The Lions defeated Brown, 160 -133 for its second straight
Ivy League win and third on the season. Sophomore David Jakl set a new Uris
pool record in the 100 butterfly with a time of 48.50 seconds and the team won
10 of 16 events in impressive fashion.

In Homecoming Meet
Columbia capped an exciting day of swimming with an
exhibition heat of the 800 freestyle relay. The quartet of Dominik Koll, Omar
Arafa, Christian Vivadelli and Jakl broke the 27 year-old Uris pool record time
of 6:47.38, clocking in at 6:45.46.
Scouting the Midshipmen
The 5-5 Midshipmen are coming off its third straight dual
meet loss of the season as they enter Uris Pool on Friday. This will be the
second Ivy League matchup for the Naval Academy this year after they suffered a
loss to 182-115 Princeton on Jan. 5.
