2013 Armory Collegiate Invitaional Schedule
YORK - The Columbia track & field team kicked-off the first day of action at the Armory Collegiate Invitational on Friday, Feb.1 with several standout performances. The Lions were amongst the nation's best at The Armory, competing in the 100 plus team represented field.
Columbia's best showings came in the men's distance medley relay and the 1,000m events. The quartet of John Gregorek, Connor Claflin, Harrison McFann, and Mark Feigen broke the Columbia school record in the distance medley relay, clocking in with a time of 9:40.67. The tandem ran the fifth fastest NCAA time of the season with their fourth-place finish in the championship heat.
Brendon Fish posted an impressive runner-up finish in the 1,000m championship heat with a time of 2:24.10. Brendan Donley also showed well in the event with a 12th-place time of 2:27.91, respectively.
Caroline Williams represented the Lions in the women's 5,000m champhionship heat with a seventh-place time of 16:53.51. The women's team went on to place three runners in the top 25 of the 1,000m event, for its deepest run on the day. In the 48 participant event, Emily Krasinski grabbed 20th-place at 2:54.64, Madeline Rathbun took 23rd-place at 2:54.96 and Danika Simonson followed in 25th-place at 2:56.15.
The Lions first event on Saturday is the women's 5,000m college heat, where Sarah Eagan will be in section two at 8:30 a.m. The Invitational will feature live meet coverage courtesy of Flotrack.org, for more information click HERE.
