PRINCETON, N.J. -- The 2013 Ivy League Round-Robins, the Ivy League Fencing Championships, have been postponed by the snow storm predicted to attack the Northeast Friday and Saturday.

Most of the Ivy League fencing teams were scheduled to travel to Cambridge, Mass., Friday, February 8, with the competition, at Harvard's Gordon Track, taking place Saturday and Sunday.

Both the Ivy League champions and All-Ivy League teams would be decided with the competition.

But anticipated travel problems for both competitors and spectators prompted the Ivy League to postpone the event.

Citing "anticipated travel problems surrounding Winter Storm Nemo", the League announced the postponement Thursday evening.

"With more than 20 inches of snow forecast for the Boston area," the announcement read, "travel is anticipated to become difficult throughout New England during the day Friday and well into Saturday. After monitoring the situation throughout the day Wednesday and Thursday, the League decided Thursday night that it was best to postpone the event."

The Ivy League office noted it would be "looking at a potential date to reschedule the Round-Robins."
