NEW YORK - Princeton shot the ball well and used its height advantage to hold a dominant edge on the glass to claim a 65-40 victory at Levien Gym on Friday night. The Tigers (13-2, 6-2) handed the Lions (10-13, 2-7) their third straight defeat.

The Tigers out-rebounded the Lions  18-8, in the first half and finished plus-11 for the game, while shooting 56.1 percent from the floor.

First-year Maodo Lo followed up his 16-point performance at Jadwin Gym, with another strong effort against Princeton, netting 15 points and dishing for three assists.

Lo contributed on each of Columbia's first five buckets with a pair of three's and a two assists, but the Tigers still led 13-10 with 13:38 to go in the first half. A 4-for-10 start from the charity stripe by Princeton kept the Lions in the game, but the Tigers continued to take the ball to the rim and converted two consecutive three-point plays extended the advantage to 27-17 at the 4:59 juncture of the period.

Alex Rosenberg answered with a floater in the lane, and completed another three-point play the next trip down the floor, but that was Columbia's only score in the final eight minutes. Princeton held a 36-20 advantage at the half.

The Tigers started the second half with six-straight to push the margin to 42-20 before a Steve Frankoski three in the right corner ended the drought with 17:03 left in regulation.

However, Princeton did not let up and continued to remain comfortably in front the rest of the way.

Denton Koon led the Tigers with 23 points. Ian Hummer posted 17 points and five assists.

Columbia will return to action tomorrow night when Penn pays a visit to Levien Gymnasium. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
