PRINCETON, N.J. - The Columbia wrestling team garnered four spots on the 2013 All-Ivy League wrestling teams, as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon. Steve Santos and Stephen West were selected to the first team, while Jake O'Hara and Matt Bystol were given second-team nods.

For the second consecutive season, West was a unanimous first-team selection at 174 pounds. During his senior campaign, West has wrestled to a 22-5 overall mark, while going 5-0 in Ivy League competition. He has posted a team-best six pins during the 2012-13 campaign to go with two major decisions and one technical fall. In his 11 matches since the start of the New Year, West is 10-1, highlighted by a 3-0 showing at the Cal Poly duals where he posted two pins and a technical fall. Prior to the calendar change, West secured first-place finishes at both the Michigan State Open and New York State Wrestling Championships.

Santos, a fellow senior co-captain, is currently ranked fifth in the nation at 149 pounds with a 22-2 overall mark. He went a perfect 9-0 in dual action this season, including posting a 4-0 record against Ancient Eight foes. Santos also earned first-place honors at the Michigan State Open and NYS Wrestling Championships, en route to opening the season 15-0. During his final season as a Lion, Santos has tallied four pins, two major decisions and one technical. Wednesday's All-Ivy League selection marks the third time in Santos' career that he has been recognized by the conference, as he was a first-team selection as a junior and honorable mention during his sophomore year.

As the Lions' third senior co-captain, O'Hara makes his first appearance on an All-Ivy League team. O'Hara has racked up a 19-5 overall record and a 4-1 mark against conference opponents.  No stranger to scoring points during his matches, O'Hara is tied for the team-lead in major decisions, while also recording one fall and one technical fall. Not to be outdone by his previously mentioned classmates, O'Hara is also a Michigan State Open and NYS Wrestling Championships first-place finisher.

Bystol also makes his first appearance on an All-Ivy League team as a junior with the Lions. After starting the year at 141 pounds, the Libertyville, Ill. native dropped down to 133 pounds for Ivy League competition. The dip in weight produced a 4-1 record in conference matches, including a 29 second pin of Princeton's Andrew Hirai on February 15.

The Lions' four All-Ivy League selections and the rest of the Columbia wrestling team have this upcoming weekend off from competition as they prepare for the 2013 EIWA Championships that will take place in Piscataway, N.J. on March 8-9.
