PRINCETON, N.J. - On Saturday, March 2, the Columbia women's swimming and diving capped the final day of the 2013 Ivy League Women's Swimming and Diving Championships with a third place finish and an end to phenomenal performance by Katie Meili. For the second straight year, the senior was voted by the coaches as the Swimmer of the Meet and is the Career High Point Swimmer. She finished the championships with three individual titles, including three Princeton pool records, three school records and two Ivy League records.

On the final day of the championships, Meili continued to have a stellar weekend setting her third DeNunzio pool record of the meet in the 200 breast. Meili posted a NCAA 'B' qualifying time of 2:11.39 in the event, more than three seconds faster than the second place finisher. The senior returned in the finals to win the Ivy League title with a program, pool and career-best time of 2:09.41. Kristine Ng won the 'B' final in a time of 2:17.66 in a solid performance by the first-year swimmer.

Alena Kluge earned a championship finals appearance in the 200 backstroke with a sixth-place NCAA 'B' cut time of 1:58.88. She went to finish sixth overall with a school record and career-best time of 1:58.33. Caroline Lukins added a strong swim in the finals of the 200 butterfly on the day. The senior posted a seventh-place time of 2:00.51, just a tenth of a second away from setting a new school record. Ng also claimed a runner-up finish in the in the 'B' finals of the 200 fly with a time of 2:00.91.

Columbia tallied 1132 points to capture third place in the Ivy League. The point total is the highest in school history and trailed only second place Harvard (1374) and first place Princeton (1474.5). The Lions finished the season setting a combined 24 pool records at Princeton, Rutgers, Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth and at Columbia's Uris Pool.
