COLUMBIA FINAL QUALIFIER RESULTS
NEW YORK - The Columbia track & field team competed in
several meets this weekend wrap-up the season. The highlight was the
Columbia Final Qualifier Meet at The Armory, where the Lions put together some
stellar showings including two school record performances.
On Saturday, March 2, Mark Feigen set the school record in the
3000m run with a time of 8:04 at the Armory. Trina Bills became another school
record holder on the day setting the mark in the women's 800m with a time of
2:07.59. Daniel Everett added a strong performance in the one mile event, clocking in at a time of 4:00.
At the Armory, the Lions represented well in the men's 800m
with a 1-2-3 finish. Harrison McFann led all runners with a time of
1:49.40, followed by Connor Claflin in second place at 1:49.81 and Brendon Fish
in third place at 1:50.72.
Another group of Lions spent the weekend competing in the
Virginia Tech Final Qualifier in Blacksburg, Va. Uju Ofoche competed in the
women's long jump and posted a leap of 5.75m on Saturday. In the triple jump,
QueenDenise Okeke marked a leap of 12.73 and Nadia Eke jumped 12.64m in the
event.
