NEW YORK - Following a two-game road swing, the Columbia women's lacrosse team will return to Robert K. Kraft field on Saturday, March 9 to face Ivy League foe Cornell at 1 p.m. The Lions are 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the Ivy League, but will look to remain unblemished at home as they take on the Big Red.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

Columbia will look to make program history Saturday afternoon as the Lions gear to beat Cornell for the first time since the teams met in 1997. The Big Red lead the all-time series at 16-0, including a 19-7 Columbia defeat in last season's meeting.

LAST TIME OUT

In a double overtime game, the Lions fell to Brown 11-10 in its first Ivy League matchup of the season on Saturday, March 2. The Lions rallied from four goals down at halftime to send the game into overtime. Kacie Johnson led the Columbia offense with four goals and Kelly Buechel had a solid game with a pair of goals, four ground balls and three draw controls.

WRITING THE RECORD BOOKS

With seven points on Saturday in a win over Mount St. Mary's, Johnson surpassed Holly Glynn's ('09CC) mark of 186 points to become the all-time points leader in program history. She has tallied 196 career points to date after tallying a team- leading four points at Brown in her last outing.

IVY LEAGUE & NATIONAL STATISTICS

Johnson currently stands among the top in the Ivy League in goals per game with an average of 4.33. With a total of 13 goals in three games this season, the senior's goals per game average ranks fifth best in the nation.

Skylar Dabbar holds the second best save percentage at  .435 in the Ivy League to represent the Lions' defense. The sophomore has tallied 20 saves on 26 attempts through three games.

SCOUTING THE BIG RED

Cornell has jumped to a 3-0 start to the season, including a win over Harvard in their only Ivy League game. The Big Red is averaging 16.67 goals per game and stand among the nation's best in that category. The high-scoring offense is led by sophomore Lindsay Toppe who has poured in a total of 14 goals with eight assists for 22 points this season.
