NEW YORK – The Columbia lightweights will make the short trip to Lake Carnegie to take on No. 5 Princeton and Delaware on Saturday.

The Lions have surged to No. 3 in the latest national rankings (released on May 2) after knocking off Cornell and Dartmouth two weeks ago en route to being named Row2K’s Crew of the Week on April 25.

Princeton checks in at No. 5 after a tough weekend of racing against top-ranked Harvard and No. 2 Yale. The three Ancient Eight crews competed for the Goldthwait Cup on April 27. Despite finishing third, the Tigers were just six seconds back from the Crimson and 4.6 seconds off the Bulldogs’ pace.

Delaware entered as a guest in last weekend’s Callow Cup race. The Blue Hens won in dramatic fashion, topping Penn by just 0.03 seconds. Race officials were forced convened at length to determine the official winner of the race.
