TULSA, Okla. -- The Columbia men’s tennis team displayed one of the best performances in program history at the 2013 Saint Francis ITA All-American Championships this week. For the first time ever, the Columbia duo of Ashok Narayana and Max Schnur reached the quarterfinals of a College Grand Slam event, while No. 54 Winston Lin advanced to the round of 16 in singles.

In doubles action, Narayana/Schnur advanced past the round of 32 a win over Alejandro Espejo and Dylan McCloskey of Tulsa, 8-3.

The Columbia pair continued to dominate in the round of 16 with an 8-3 win over a doubles duo from 2012 defending NCAA champions, Virginia, No. 8 Mitchell Frank/Mac Styslinger, becoming the first-ever Columbia team to advance to the quarterfinals.

Narayana/Schnur put up a gutsy fight before falling by an 8-3 score to Nick Chappell and Will Stein. The TCU pair then lost in the next round to the eventual tournament champions, Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese (Tennessee).

In singles, Lin toppled No. 49 Raphael Hemmeler from Duke, 6-1, 6-2, in the round of 64. He continued his strong play in the round of 32 with a thrilling tiebreaking victory over No. 80 Michael Grant of USC, 603, 2-6, 7-6(4). He then played his way to the round of 16 in the singles main draw before ultimately falling to the eventual 2013 singles champion, Virginia's No. 15 Mitchell Frank, 6-0 7-6 (4).
