NEW YORK—Columbia University recognized 279 Dean's List and 49 student-athletes for achieving a perfect 4.0 term grade point average at its 19th annual Academic Achievement Luncheon on Tuesday at Low Library.
Hosted by Columbia Athletics' Office of Enrichment Services, the 2016 Academic Achievement Luncheon brought together student-athlete honorees, coaches, parents, department staff, University constituents and alumni guests for a special recognition of the academic excellence achieved by Columbia student-athletes.
Former Columbia women's tennis player Amy Li '15 CC served as the event's guest speaker.
The event featured a total of 279 student-athletes from all 31 varsity sports programs and four undergraduate colleges that achieved Dean's List status. That list is below. In addition, the event also honored 49 student-athletes who achieved a 4.0 term grade point average. All student-athletes honored at the event for the spring, 2016 and fall 2016 semesters.
"This is such a special event for our Department and the University,” Associate Athletics Director for Enrichment Services Jessica De Palo said. “It is important to recognize the hard work and outstanding academic accomplishments of our student athletes who not only excel athletically, but who also value academic excellence.”
