The Columbia Athletics Success Through Well-Being (STWB) program equips student-athletes with the skills, support, and resources to:

  • Enhance overall student-athlete well-being;
  • Achieve success as a Columbia student-athlete;
  • Transition into post-graduate life.

Access to Support Services

Access to student-athlete support services is offered in three primary ways:

General Support
Offered to all student-athletes (e.g., fieldwork outreach, career development programming, STWB weekly email communication, engagement and e-learning platforms, etc.).

Group Support
Focused on specific topics for specific groups (e.g., student-athlete affinity groups, team sessions, etc.).

Individual Support
Tailored to individual needs (e.g., problem-solving meetings, academic support sessions, well-being check-ins, injury support, etc.).

Our Core Support Services

STWB provides five core support services to student-athletes: academics, career development, mental performance, sports nutrition, and well-being. Each core area has a dedicated team member who collaborates with partners on and off campus to connect student-athletes with the right resources.

Injury support group for injured student-athletes
Support individual performance needs (confidence, focus, goal-setting, high-performance habits)

Individualized mental performance sessions (office hours and upon referral)
Sports Nutrition Fueling program

Nutrition tabling education

Weekly quick questions with sports nutritionist
Group/team support, resources, and education

First-year sports nutrition programming (dining, fueling planning)

Senior programming for transition out of sport
Individual nutrition needs (pre/post-fueling, travel, meal planning, supplement safety, allergies)

Individualized sessions (office hours and upon referral)
