Construction is complete on The Campbell Sports Center, the flagship of Columbia's athletic renewal. The first new athletics building since the Marcellus Hartley Dodge Physical Fitness Center was built in the mid-1970s, The Campbell Sports Center is the new cornerstone of the revitalized Baker Athletics Complex.
This signature presence at 218th Street and Broadway sends a powerful message—to student-athletes, to coaches, to the campus community, to alumni and to the sporting public—about Columbia’s commitment to athletics. The Campbell Sports Center is already making a tangible, immediate impact on the athletics program.
The Campbell Sports Center offers student-athletes and coaches what they need to achieve excellence: a state-of-the-art facility featuring a theatre-style meeting room, conference rooms, a strength-and-conditioning center, a student-athlete lounge and study center, a hospitality pavilion, and coaches’ offices. The Campbell Sports Center fosters Columbia spirit and transforms the student-athlete experience by creating an attractive year-round hub for student-athletes, coaches, staff, and administrators.
As The Campbell Sports Center celebrates our teams, it also honors one of our most accomplished athletics alumni: the captain of the 1961 Ivy League Champion football Lions, former Columbia head football coach, “Coach of Silicon Valley,” and Chair of the University Trustees, William V. Campbell ’62CC.
We are thrilled to celebrate the opening of The Campbell Sports Center!
