NEW YORK - Following an impressive sophomore season, Camille Zimmerman has been named second team All-Met by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) as announced on Monday. Zimmerman becomes only the third player in program history to earn the award.s

Tori Oliver was named a third team All-Met selection last year for the Lions while Judie Lomax became the first Columbia women's basketball to earn the honor, taking a first team nod in 2009-10.

Named to the second team All-Ivy League squad after earning two Ivy League Player of the Week (Nov. 23, Dec. 21) honors and six Ivy League Weekly Honor Roll selections this year, Zimmerman finished the year with a team-leading 14.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while shooting 46.8 percent (155-for-331) from the floor and 37.8 percent (17-of-45) from beyond the arc.

The sophomore forward finished the 2015-16 season with six double-doubles, six 20+ point games, 19 games in double figures and six games with at least 10 rebounds. Earlier this season, Zimmerman posted up a career night with a 31-point, 12-rebound performance after shooting 45.0 percent (9-of-20) from the field and 83.3 percent (5-of-6) from deep against Vermont on Nov. 17.

The All-Met First and Second Team players, coach and rookie of the year will be honored Tuesday, April 12, at the 83rd NIT/MBWA Haggerty Awards dinner at the Westchester Marriott, Tarrytown, NY.
