Columbia Announces Future Football Schedules

NEW YORK—Columbia University released its future football schedules through the year 2022, Patricia and Shepard Alexander Head Coach of Football Al Bagnoli announced on Wednesday.

In addition to its annual seven-game Ivy League schedule, Columbia's non-conference opponents for the next six years will include five more Lou Little Cup games against Georgetown (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), four matchups against Marist (2017, 2018, 2021, 2022), four games against Central Connecticut State (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), two contests against Wagner (2017, 2020) and one matchup against Saint Francis U (2019). A slight change in the Ivy League order of games is also evident as Columbia will conclude its regular season schedules against Cornell instead of Brown beginning in 2018.

Columbia's 2017 football schedule was announced on March 22. True Blue Ticket Packages and football season tickets are now on sale! See information below.

Columbia Football spring practices began on Tuesday, March 21. The Lions have already completed 10 of their 12 days of spring practice and will host their annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 15. Kickoff for Saturday's Spring Game is at noon. Admission to the spring game is free.

In 2017, Columbia returns 13 starters (seven on offense and six on defense) and 61 letterwinners to a youthful and talented team that finished 3-7 overall and tied for a sixth place finish in the Ivy League with a 2-5 record. The 2016 Lions concluded their season with a victory at Brown, while five of their seven losses were decided by 10 points or fewer. Three All-Ivy League picks return in freshman placekicker Oren Milstein, junior defensive back Cameron Roane and junior defensive lineman Lord Hyeamang. Additionally, Columbia will return players who accounted for 88 percent (162 of 185) of its points scored, 82 percent (1,651 of 2,014) of its passing yards, 51 percent (1,037 of 2,014) of its receiving yards, 60 percent (3 of 5) of its starters on the offensive line and 49 percent (333 of 680) of its tackles in 2016.
