BIANCA GOTUACO TAKES RECURVE GOLD TO LEAD COLUMBIA SWEEP

CHULA VISTA, Calif. - The 2017 National Outdoor Collegiate Championships was capped with another dominant performance from Columbia archery on Sunday, May 21 as the Lions achieved a podium sweep in the individual recurve. In an all-Columbia final, Bianca Gotuaco defeated teammate Christine Kim to win the gold. Gotauco concludes her sophomore season with her first collegiate National Title.

"I am very happy and very proud of our team." Gotuaco said. "I know we deserve it, but I'm still very shocked. We worked so hard this year – our practices were very productive now that we have a dedicated practice space and we've had better weather so we were able to prepare very well. I think we're all very happy with how we did.”

Christine Kim dawned the silver medal with a runner-up finish, followed by Aileen Yu collecting the bronze medal by defeating Cassandra Pelton of Georgia Southern in the thrid-place match.
